ABOUT SAM
Hello and welcome! Since it can be helpful to know a bit about the person who will be walking alongside you on this healing journey, let me tell you about myself.
I have a passion for guiding and supporting people like you who are looking to feel better but might not know what that route looks like. I strongly believe that it is my calling, or some may call it a soul path, to do this work. I work with the belief that every human being is perfectly unique and has the innate capacity for healing. However, what is needed for that healing is different for everyone. That being said, I help by using an intuitive and integrative counselling style that is backed by years of education and practice to tailor our sessions to your unique needs.
I take a modern, holistic, and spiritual approach, that creates a safe space without judgement. I believe in making a difference and getting to the root of your problem instead of just “mhmm-ing” and nodding at you from across the screen. I also like to sprinkle some humour into our sessions. My clients like that I am relatable, and that’s because I too have sought out mental health support in the past and continuously do so when I need it. I know, from my experience as a client that you are incredibly courageous for showing up to do the work of therapy! I feel honoured to now be in a position to create a safe space for you, just as that space was offered to me when I most needed it.
When I’m not honouring my calling as a clinical counsellor, I like to read fantasy, play video games, try new foods, explore, and hike the beautiful areas of Western Canada, where I am privileged to live.
“What will our sessions look like?” you may ask. Our time together will start by covering what has been going on for you currently and how we can immediately make some changes to start feeling better. Then, we will begin to explore below the surface to uncover your emotions and deeper subconscious belief systems. Understanding and processing these parts of yourself can allow for deep healing and a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose.
Now, if you want a little bit more information about my areas of expertise, common modalities, and the resume-y stuff, you can find that to the right and below.
P.S. As much as it is important that I have the skills and clinical expertise to support you throughout your healing journey, it is equally, if not MORE important that you feel comfortable working with ME. That being said, let’s book a free consultation call to see if we could be a good fit.
